Chapter Six

"Thanks for the lesson. Bye." Charmaine ran out of the house like she had seen a ghost.
"Hey," Adam said after Charmaine was gone. "Did she just leave? I wanted to talk to her."
"Adam, forget it. That girl is the most stubborn person on this earth. You'll never get her."
"I at least have to try." Adam replied.

"Did you get anything Grover?" Annabeth asked as she unpacked her books to study.
"No. I must've smelled every kid in the school. Not one Halfblood. But that time when you said hi to Chase by the girl's bathroom, I smelled something suspicious."
"So you're saying you think Chase is the Halfblood?"
"I'm not sure. It smelled like the scent was coming from inside the bathroom, not Chase." Grover explained.
"That came out wrong." Percy joked.
"We're being serious Percy." Annabeth gave him a solemn look. "Okay, there's a chance it might be Chase. I have a way we can find out."
"What?" Percy and Grover said in perfect unison.
"I hear that Chase is doing tutoring lessons. Grover, since your the one with the sniffing nose, I signed you up for tutoring lessons." Annabeth handed him a piece of paper. "The paper just has Chase's phone number and address. Your first lesson is the day after tomorrow."
"Wait, if Chase is giving tutoring lessons, that means he probably isn't dyslexic. So he's probably not a Halfblood." Percy reasoned.
"No, you could be wrong. There's a definite chance he's a Demigod." Grover corrected.
"How?"
"Charmaine."
"Huh?"
"Charmaine, she's a Demigod and not dyslexic."
"I didn't know that." Annabeth stated from the kitchen table where she was studying.

Ding!
The sound made Charmaine homesick, even though it sounded barely similar to the bell at her old penthouse.
The short man she had seen before answered the door. She could see a woman inside, who looked like she could be Leo's mother.
"Charmaine? What're you doing here at midnight?" He asked.
"I left my lipstick." She replied. She knew she'd get weird looks from him and she was right.
"You came back for lipstick? Okay, come on in." He gestured inside. She saw the woman pick up some lipstick from the table. It was Charmaine's lipstick. The woman pointed it towards her face and her hand was in midair, ready to open it.
"Noooo!" Charmaine flung her arm out. Ice flowed out and in an insta-second it knocked the lipstick out of the woman's hands just as it was opened. Apparently the short man had witnessed the entire scene, but the woman was gasping at what used to be Charmaine's lipstick and was now lying on the floor. Charmaine rushed over and picked up the celestial bronze sword, coated with glittery ice. She breathed on it and the ice disappeared. The bronze shone in the dim living room light.
"How did? You just-." The man said.
She cut him off. "Wow, you should close that door, winter winds, who knew they could be so powerful? Well, bye now!" Charmaine raced out with the sword strapped into into it's scabbard, which the man had just noticed on Charmaine's belt.

"Donald!" Tasha shouted strictly for the whole household to hear. "What in the world was that about!"
"I have no idea!" He said innocently. "I just saw a flash knock the lipstick out of your hand then it was a bronze sword!"
"Well, whatever she did saved me from getting three feet of bronze in my face. You're the scientist! Find some reasonable explanation!"

"When's your next tutoring lesson?" Adam continuously bugged.
"Fine!" Chase had had enough. "It's tomorrow!"
"Okay, expect me to be there." He patted Chase on the shoulder. Chase smirked and went back to reading.
